A few parts have alternate solutions though usually still require you present to the same statement that won’t be covered. This walkthrough won’t include any haunt solutions either.

Socrates

• First argument
  • Question “All material things cannot be doubted.”
  • It becomes “All sensory things cannot be doubted.”
  • Present “People are naive and can be tricked.” to it
• Second argument
  • Question “My original conclusion remains that right and wrong can be doubted.”
  • It becomes “Right and wrong are decided by what each person believes is right or wrong.”
  • Present “Your argument is a sham and you are an idiot.” to it

After this point, any of the three Touhou characters can be tackled though order does matter. Suika and Reimu can be switched between but Youmu always comes last as she won’t back down from her second argument without the idea from Diotima’s flashback (which only comes after defeating at least two characters). That said you only need to beat Suika to beat Youmu’s first argument so go ahead and switch that up if you’d like.

For this walkthrough, we’ll go through it as Suika-Reimu-Suika-Youmu.

Suika

• First argument
  • Get “Love is a wild, ultimately transient state.” from having heard her argument
  • Leave her

Reimu

• First argument
  • Question “But true love is comfortable, tranquil, like a lazy Sunday.”
  • It becomes “Love is eternal and reliable.”
  • Present “Love is a wild, ultimately transient state.” to it

Suika (again)

• First argument
  • Question “You can’t love while wearing a façade! Love is authentic and it can bite ya!”
  • Diotima remarks “Stubborn. It’ll take more to get to her to concede on this point.”
  • Question the same statement again.
  • Continue once Suika accepts Diotima’s new challenge and gain “Humans cope with danger by setting boundaries.”
  • Pick “You can’t love while wearing a façade! Love is authentic and it can bite ya!” to present to
  • Present “Humans cope with danger by setting boundaries.” to it

Flashback

• Pick “Something deep within Diotima is returning to her.” after beating Suika
• Go through the flashback and gain “Love is, despite suffering, ultimately good.”

Youmu

• First argument
  • Get attacked by Youmu and lose credibility
  • Pick “Love is duty.” to present to
  • Present “Love is selfish.” to it
• Second argument
  • Question “It is a trade and a deal that manifests in many forms; but comes down to sacrifice and compromise.”
  • Diotima remarks “She needs time, maybe I will have to revisit this line of questioning.”
  • Question the same statement again.
  • It becomes “It’s compromise and suffering; it’s ultimately not worth it in the end.”
  • Pick it to present to
  • Present “Love is, despite suffering, ultimately good.”

And then you’ve completed all four characters and the game’s seven arguments! Click “I’ve heard enough.” to end the game.
